FLUID APPLICATION
FLUID APPLICATION
Assalamualaikum and hi everyone. So todays topic from me is fluid application.
In chapter 2 of thermofluids, we had studied about fluid application.
Fluid application are divided by two which is fluid static and fluid dynamic. But in todays topic,i would like to write about fluid static only.
In fluid static or fluid at rest, we learnt about pressure and depth, pascal law, hydraulic jack, bouyancy and archimedes,and pressure of measurement.
in the topic pressure and depth, we learnt that if a fluid is within a container then the depth of an object is placed in that fluid can be measured. The deeper the object is placed in the fluid,the more pressure it experiences. This is because of the weight of the object above it. The more dense the fluid above it, the more pressure is exerted on the object that is submerged, due to the weight of the fluid.
The pressure can be measured by the formula:
P=pgh
Next, in pascal law, we learnt that pascal law is pressure at a point in a fluid is equal in all directions.
Below are the example of pascal law:
The diagram shows that the pressure from all directions are same and it'll change when the pressure increase.
Last is bouyancy and archimedes. Archimedes principle states that the bouyant force on a submerged object is equal to the weight of the fluid that is displaced by the object.
Based on the figure above,if the body immersed so that part of its volume, V1 is immersed in a fluid of density, p and the rest of its volume, V2 in another immiscible fluid of mass density, P. The upthrust will act through the centre of gravity of displaced fluid, which is called the centre of bouyancy.
So thats all from me, thank you for lend me your time to read this. Thank you too to our lecturer, Encik Roshaizul for teaching us and everything. May Allah bless Encik and us.
For DEM2S2, Good luck for this upcoming final exam!
